Amaro Montenegro is a celebrated Italian herbal liqueur from Bologna, crafted since 1885 from a secret recipe of 40 botanicals including bitter and sweet oranges, vanilla, dried coriander, marjoram, and other aromatic herbs and spices. Named in honour of Princess Elena of Montenegro on the occasion of her marriage to the Italian Crown Prince, Montenegro is considered one of the most elegant and approachable amari available. The palate is beautifully balanced — sweet yet bitter, floral yet herbal — with notes of vanilla, orange blossom, light spice, and a clean, refreshingly bittersweet finish.
