Description
Pascal Jolivet’s Sancerre Le Chêne Marchand comes from a 2.52 acre parcel planted on one of the most beautiful and prized sites in the appellation of Sancerre, with due south exposure in the village of Bué. A wine with a ton of complexity and power behind it, but also incredibly smooth. Minerality, freshness and salinity are well extracted from the terroir of limestone. It develops even further elegant with time.
In Le Chêne Marchand, one of Sancerre's finest appellations, the grapes are organically grown, then picked and hand selected, then the juice is fermented with wild yeasts in stainless steel tanks, retaining Pascal Jolivet's style of a very low intervention wine that expresses the clarity of the terroir.
