At an elevation of 4,000’, at the very foot of the majestic Andes, soils have a marked limestone character – from patches of rocky surface soil to a shallow subsoil of round rocks. These Limestone Lots impart a mineral texture to the wines produced here. Malbec has a beautiful affinity for co-fermentation – vinifying with small amounts of Cabernet Franc intensifies Malbec’s floral character while the limestone soil profile lends finely grained tannins.
