Long Shadows Pedestal Merlot 2018 is an exceptional Washington State Merlot crafted by Long Shadows Vintners in collaboration with the legendary Bordelais consulting winemaker Michel Rolland. Sourced from prime vineyards in the Columbia Valley, Washington — one of America's premier Merlot-growing regions — Pedestal is an homage to the noble Merlot grape done in a refined, European-influenced style.

Deep ruby in color with violet hints, the 2018 opens with an inviting, classically structured nose of dark plum, black cherry, dried violet, mocha, cedar, and a subtle floral note characteristic of Rolland's signature style. The palate is full, velvety, and harmonious, with plush tannins, layers of ripe fruit, vanilla oak, and an impressively long, elegant finish that showcases the exceptional quality of Columbia Valley fruit and Rolland's consummate blending skill.
